Showing

The CACS and CACIB International Show – this was held in the same place as the day before and both dogs seemed much more relaxed. Over all this was an excellent end to the show both Boomer and Nova getting their first tickets, along with both gaining a pass excellent in the French Kennel Club Temperament test. We had an excellent time in France and we are all looking forward to our next show.

The Exposition Canine Metz – CACS & CACIB International show, Metz France

This was our second attempt at showing in an international setting in a french KC show which was affiliated to the FCI Europe’s main registry for pedigree dogs. I was very nervous as i knew people would be looking at us with our English dogs! It would also be a good chance to see how we fared against the other dogs in Europe.

Our Judge for this show was Jean-Paul Kerivel

Nova was next in Intermediate Female, she seemed to be better on the second day and relaxed more in the ring. I think her movement was much better and she stood well, I was very pleased for her to be placed first, the Judge then called forward for The Best Female and she was awarded Reserve Best Female which I was delighted with as the bitch that beat her was a very nicely matured dog. And i still feel that Nova was not at her best for this show we had traveled a long way with some strange dogs which though she coped i think she was finding it hard.

Boomer had really begun to settle by now and it was really clear he was enjoying himself. He was first up in the Open Male class, I think from the moment we went in the ring the Judge liked him. This time instead of being judged on the table they were judged in a free stack on the ground. Boomer held his stack in spite of the judge standing over him. I think the judge must have loved his face as he kept looking at it and though a little surprised I was very pleased to be awarded 1st place. The best was yet to come Boomer was called forward for the Best Of Breed and I was totally shocked to be awarded Best Of Breed, the judge said that he was a very good looking dog with excellent structure and his coat was very good!
